London, 30 July 2007: Leading financial security company, Genworth Financial Inc. (NYSE: GNW), has announced the appointment of Angel Mas to head its European Mortgage Insurance business.

Formerly Managing Director and Commercial Leader of Genworth's Payment Protection Insurance business, Mas' new remit will be to expand Genworth's already established Mortgage Insurance Europe (MIE) business - with a focus on driving disciplined growth in the unit's key regions. "Genworth is a strong local player, well-known in this industry for our unique partner franchise," said Mas. "I'm looking forward to working with our partners and in-country teams to build out our operations with the high standards of risk management rigour, controllership, integrity and innovation that Genworth is known for. After all, it's what keeps us ahead of the game - and gives our customers a competitive advantage."

Mas has a proven track record in growing new markets and delivering results having helped to establish Genworth businesses in some 24 countries. With 15 years of financial services experience, he has worked in the areas of business development, risk and capital management, finance and controllership, mergers and acquisitions.
