Putts for Charity Beats Fundraising Target at the SAS Masters

Robert Karlsson

With Tour Professionals and visitors to the SAS Masters on ‘putting form’ this week it comes as no surprise that Genworth’s ‘Putts for Charity’ fundraising target has been reached with ease.

Run in association with SAS and GolfAID ‘Putts for Charity’ has raised 336,625 SEK / € 35,585 EURO this week for Rädda Barnen (Save The Children Sweden - www.rb.se) . Tour professionals including Jesper Parnevik, Robert Karlsson, Niclas Fasth, Alexander Noren, Martin Kaymer and the tournament’s defending champion Mikko Ilonen all visited the specially constructed greens in the Sponsors Village to make their one-putts as did hundreds of visitors. This fundraising activity was boosted further by any one-putts made on course throughout the tournament.

Martin Ring from Genworth Financial commented:
“We’re absolutely delighted with the amount of money raised through ‘Putts for Charity’ this week for Save the Children. Putting conditions have been favourable with light winds and a well prepared course helping us reach our target with ease. Some fantastic one-putts have been sunk on course while the putting skills of spectators, both young and old, visiting our putting greens also contributed significantly to the monies raised.” For every one-putt made during the tournament by the Tour Pros, the Genworth Foundation, in partnership with SAS and GolfAID, donated 50 SEK to Rädda Barnen. For each successful one-putt made by the public, 25 SEK was donated to the charity.
