On Friday, 10th of October, school children from across Milan were honoured in a prize giving ceremony celebrating their participation in the “Dreams of a Possible City” competition. From the start of the new school year, the children were invited to create, by any means – writing, photographs, videos, drawings etc. – representations of the city that they would like to “live in, see, feel, read and eat”.
The initiative, based on the principle of participation: Massimo Uberti’s light installation Infinity and Beyond, inspired by the ideal city, serves as a starting point to encourage schools and teachers to address in class the fundamental issues of metropolitan coexistence, developing the balancing of opinions and the value of collective responsibility, with the added incentive of the competitive element.
