In partnership with the Tour and The Tour Player's Foundation, Pro’s are also encouraged to lend their support at the Putts For Charity® putting green as well as on the course.
In 2010, the main ‘Putts For Charity®’ beneficiary will be SOS Children’s Villages an independent, non governmental and social development organisation, which has been active in the field of children’s needs, concerns and rights since 1949. In 132 countries and territories our activities focus on children without parental care and children of families in difficult circumstances.
‘Putts For Charity’ has previously supported a number of charities across Europe, including The Rainbow Trust and 'Save the Children' .
European Tour Professional Ross Fisher (Genworth’s brand ambassador) spoke at the launch of this year’s Putts for Charity® launch at the BMW PGA Championship and said “I am delighted to kick start Putts for Charity® once again. For me, charity is about providing opportunities and support to those who need it most, so it seems apt that we launch this year’s programme at Wentworth – the club that gave me the opportunities and support that helped me to get where I am today." |
